What is Energy Audit or ISO 50002 Certification?
ISO 50002 Certification is a proof that your company or organization carried out the energy performance audit including equipment used, systems and process where energy is involved. The certification will require you to undergo several audit which includes energy audit planning, opening meeting, collection of data and measuring of plans. Also, site visit may be conducted to see how your organization manage field works.
The Importance and Advantages of ISO 50002 Certification
EC (Energy Conservation) Act 2001 has been in force since March 2002, indicating that energy conservation is a high priority area for the Government of India. Under the mandate of the EC Act, BEE (Bureau of Energy Efficiency) is the nodal agency for implementation of policy programme and to implement various activities contained in the EC bill to provide momentum to the energy efficiency actions in the country.
Standards of ISO 50002 Certification
Here are the activities that must be done for Energy Audit:
- Comprehensive Energy Audit covering analysis of major equipments performance for energy efficiency, data analysis and advise on improvement possible
- Conduct workshop/training/coaching programme for various levels of plant personnel
- Assistance in implementation of energy efficiency project and development of Industry specific ‘Energy Management Action Plan’
- Devising specific energy consumptive figures for bench marking.
- Advice on corporate energy related studies
